Attend the covering kids & families 24th annual back to school and community resource day!
Dear neighbor,
On Saturday, July 13, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Covering Kids & Families of Health and Hospital Corporation invites families to attend its 24th Back to School and Community Resource Day. The event will be held in the parking lot of the Marion County Public Health Department, located at 3838 N. Rural Street.
At the event, each attending school-aged child will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies along with some nutritious meals and healthy snacks. The Marion County Public Health Department will offer free immunizations, vision and dental screenings and sports physicals for children. Birth certificate services will be available free of charge for the first 100 school-aged children.
Attendees can enroll on site for healthcare programs like Hoosier Healthwise, Healthy Indiana Plan, Affordable Care Act Marketplace and Eskenazi Financial Assistance Program. Please bring income stubs from the last three months, your social security card and proof of address to verify eligibility. Representatives from 44 community organizations will also be present to provide information on various resources aimed at improving family health and quality of life.
The event will also feature the Indianapolis Fire Department’s Fire Safety Festival which includes games, food, and activities for children. I encourage everyone to attend and utilize the available resources on behalf of the Marion County Public Health Department.
