Join the IBLC for Our Indianapolis Town Hall!
This Saturday, June 7, from noon to 2 p.m. Also, go Pacers!
Dear neighbor,
You’re invited to this weekend’s town hall hosted by the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus (IBLC). Each summer, the IBLC hosts a town hall series across the state, and our first event will take place in my district, House District 96. On Saturday, June 7, the IBLC will meet from noon to 2 p.m. at Kountry Kitchen (1831 N. College Ave.).
We will discuss our legislative wins from the 2025 session, the state budget and we will answer questions. This town hall will be moderated by Chrystal Ratcliff, president of the Indianapolis NAACP. If you can’t make it in person, the town hall will be livestreamed at this link.
I’m excited to start this summer’s town hall series, and I hope to see you there. If you know young people in our community, please encourage them to attend. It’s crucial that we get youth involved in civic engagement.
Please be sure to register in advance for the Indianapolis town hall by clicking here.
Yes ‘Cers! Congratulations to the Pacers
Even though it’s unrelated to politics, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the Indiana Pacers’ win in the Eastern Conference Finals. In 49 other states it’s just basketball, but this is Indiana.
I’ve lived in Indy my entire life, and I watched the Pacers become an NBA team as a teen in the 70s. I remember the last time the Pacers made a championship run with Reggie Miller. This team has so much history, and they mean so much to our city. Thank goodness we beat the Knicks, who became our bitter rival after our 1990s and early 2000s playoff runs.
Good luck to the Pacers as they play the first game in the finals this Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Yes ‘Cers!
In service,
Gregory W. Porter
Hey Gregory Porter. Why do you need an organization just for black people? Is there a similar caucus just for white people?
You're nothing but a race hustler.
